China-Russia sports cooperation to be deepened in 2008 Olympics

China will provide necessary assistance and supports to the Russian delegation in the Beijing Olympic Games 2008, a senior sports official said here on Friday.

Both China and Russia can take advantage of the Olympics next year to deepen cooperation in sports sphere, Feng Jianzhong, deputy director of the China's General Administration of Sport told a meeting of a Chinese-Russian committee on sports cooperation.

The Chinese and Russian sports officials hailed an ongoing youth sports event in Moscow and agreed to host such games annually in each country after the Olympics 2008.

The next Chinese-Russian youth sports games will be hosted in China in 2009, according to the agreements inked on the meeting.
