font size

Before international air travel was cheap, such as in the 1960s and 1970s, and travel from New York to Tokyo was considered to be a risky journey. Nowadays, it has become very easy to travel to major cities and famous travel spots all over the world. People are now in pursuit of travel to and within unfamiliar territory.

According to the latest research from the "World Economic Forum (WEF)", there were only about 25 million international tourists in 1950; but last year, the number of international tourists had reached 763 million.

Nowadays, international tourism has becomes a US$662 billion industry, making up 10.3 percent of global economic output, and employing 234 million people. Considering the expenditures that tourists spend in other areas, such as for medical treatment and relaxation, the economic influence of tourism is quite large.
