According to the latest research from the "World Economic Forum (WEF)", there were only about 25 million international tourists in 1950; but last year, the number of international tourists had reached 763 million.
Nowadays, international tourism has becomes a US$662 billion industry, making up 10.3 percent of global economic output, and employing 234 million people. Considering the expenditures that tourists spend in other areas, such as for medical treatment and relaxation, the economic influence of tourism is quite large.
