Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan has called on localities of China to enhance cooperation with their counterparts in Russia to serve the all-round bilateral strategic partnership of cooperation.

While attending a meeting involving five provinces and autonomous regions neighboring Russia, Tang said China and Russia have established a mechanism of regular meetings or reciprocal visits between governors of neighboring localities since the two countries forged strategic partnership of cooperation 10 years ago.

The two countries should take full advantage of current cooperative mechanism to set up new platform for cooperation between localities, said Tang.

Tang said the five provinces and autonomous regions neighboring Russia should put cooperation between localities on a healthy and orderly track by setting criteria for management, improving trade structure and expanding cooperative fields.
