China's hi-tech import/export exceeds US$200 billion in first 5 months

Data published by Ministry of Commerce of China show that, from January to May of this year, China's high-tech product imports and exports exceeded US$200 billion to reach US$232.49 billion, up by 20.2 percent more than in the same period last year, and making up 29 percent of the total value of foreign trade.

The value of exports is US$125.76 billion, up 24.3 percent over the same period of last year, and the value of imports is US$106.73 billion, up 15.8 percent.
