Brunei Crown Prince meets with Gu Xiulian

Brunei Crown Prince al- Muhtadee Billah met with the visiting delegation of the China- ASEAN Association (CAA), led by its president Gu Xiulian, on Tuesday.

Brunei is willing to make every effort to promote its cooperation with China, Billah said during his meeting with Gu, who is also vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress.

The crown prince said that he is glad that the Second Conference of the ASEAN-China People-to-People Friendship Organizations will take place in Brunei, hoping more international conferences could be held in the country.

Gu said that China and Brunei are friendly neighbors and the two countries are doing well in their cooperation in every field.

The frequent exchanges of visits by the leaders of the two countries also encouraged the exchanges between non-governmental organizations, Gu said.

She spoke highly of social and economic achievements scored by Brunei under the leadership of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and appreciated Brunei's support to the Second Conference of the ASEAN- China People-to-People Friendship Organizations, which will open here on Wednesday.

The First Conference of the ASEAN-China People-to-People Friendship Organizations was held in Beijing last August.
