Li Meng, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met Thursday with Zambian Defense Minister George Mpombo.

Li hailed the 43 years' sound development of cooperative relations between China and Zambia in various sectors, appreciating Zambia's firm adherence to the one China policy.

Calling China "an all-weather friend", Mpombo expressed his gratitude for China's support to Zambia in political, economical and military fields.

He also reiterated Zambia's "clear and uncompromising stance" on the one China policy.

Mpombo arrived here Tuesday for an eight-day visit at his Chinese counterpart Cao Gangchuan. The two held talks on Wednesday.
