Chinese President Hu Jintao will visit Hong Kong from June 29 to July 1 to attend a mass gathering marking the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China and the inaugural ceremony of the third-term government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

China's State Council, the cabinet, on June 23 appointed 20 principal officials of the third-term government of HKSAR, nominated by Hong Kong's Chief Executive Donald Tsang.

The State Council decided on April 2 to reappoint Donald Tsang as Chief Executive of the HKSAR, who won the election for the post. Tsang's new term of office begins on July 1.
