22.72 million people nationwide affected by floodsAccording to statistics from the Office of State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, as of June 15th, this year's flooding has brought devastation to 1.224 hectares of farmland and 22.72 million people, 128 deaths, and has been the origin of a direct economic loss of 8.92 billion Yuan. The situation has been especially devastating since June, due to serious flooding in southern China. A population of 14.24 million people has become victims of flooding. The Office of State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has put 100 million Yuan of emergency relief funds toward the disaster. As of June 15th, a total of 1.741 million individuals, including officials, as well as ordinary citizens from the provinces of Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, and Jiangxi, have participated in relief aid work.
