    Korean "comfort women" protest before Japanese embassy

    Protestors of the Republic of Korea (ROK), including a few "comfort women" who were forced into sexual slavery by Japanese troops during WWII, gathered in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul on Wednesday, or June 27, urging the Japanese government to face history squarely and handle the "comfort women" issue properly.

    China's karst landscapes inscribed in World Heritage List

    Shilin in Yunnan Province. South China's "spectacular" karst landscapes have been given official world heritage status. The three clusters: Shilin in Yunnan Province, Libo in Guizhou Province and Wulong in Chongqing were included on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on June 27, 2007.

    Wreckage of missing Cambodian plane found

    Rescue members inspect the wreckage of an airplane that crashed into a jungle-clad mountain near Phnom Penh June 27, 2007. Searchers found the wreckage of the plane carrying 22 people, including 13 Koreans and three Czechs, high on the Cambodian mountain on Wednesday but there were no survivors.

    Gordon Brown leads Britain to new era
