Two suspects have been sentenced to prison term in Macao for casino chip stealing charges, local media reported Friday.

Macao Daily News, the leading local Chinese newspaper, reported that the 38-year-old male suspect was sentenced to jail Thursday for one year and nine months, while the 30-year-old female suspect for one and a half year on a probation of two years.

The male suspect, a local casino coupier, allegedly paid the female suspect extra chips when the latter making the exchanges, which caused the casino to lose 110,000 patacas (13,750 U.S. dollars), according to the newspaper.

The duo was nabbed by the police after being caught by the casino surveillance cameras, it reported.
