The Shijing Temple is situated at the east foot of the Tiancheng Mountain, which is the middle section of the Longquan Mountain, and within the boundary of Shijing village, Chadian town, Longquan district, Chendu, in southwest China's Sichuan province.

The temple was first built in the late East Han dynasty, and was enlarged in Ming dynasty. It stands by hills, and is covered by exuberant trees giving out marvelous scenery in the sunset glow. The trees in the temple also tell its long history. The thousand-year-old yew podocarpus was planted in Xiande period in Post-Zhou dynasty, and two ancient gingkoes in the north of the temple were planted in the Zhenguan period in Tang dynasty.

The route from Shijing Temple to Changsong Temple is an important part of traveling in the Longquan Mountain. The elegant landscape enjoys the fame as "a place with flower and fruits all year round".

In 1981, Shijing Temple was listed as the key cultural relic protection unit by Chendu municipal government.
