Editor’s note:
As the world’s highest and longest plateau railway, the Qinghai-Tibet railway has always been regarded as a dream route to Tibet. Just imagine your smooth and quite trip on the train with the picturesque sceneries outside your window, boundless plateau, silent lakes, snow peaks at a distance and the flock of antelopes. You will find yourself far away from the hustle and bustle city life. However, many people nowadays visit Tibet by airplane for the sake of saving time. Therefore, photographer Yang Can invites you to go to Tibet by train through his lens.
Extract of photographer’s diary:
On the train, a friend texted me and asked the difference between my driving to Tibet before and traveling by train this time. I thought for a while then told him that I saw the scenery outside the window, gently passing by, which made me feel peaceful. If driving to Tibet surprised me with exciting experience, then traveling by train provides me with smooth experience.
Grassland, snowy peaks, mirror-like lakes as well as boundless land and cloudless sky show its infinite beauty. It is difficult to find all of those in cities. Sometimes when I look through the window I feel as if I have taken on a very slow trip on the other planet.
