Bai Lu (literally: White Dew) is the 15th of the 24 solar terms in China. It will be on 7th September this year when the sun reaches the celestial longitude of 165 degrees.
According to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), diets should be adapted to weather. The sky is blue and the air is crisp in autumn. Therefore, foods and dished that prevent dryness, nourish Qi, purify lung and strengthen spleen is recommended. Besides, drinking more water and having fresh vegetables and fruits is agreed to be good for health. Instead of watermelon which is cold in nature, oranges and bananas are salubrious for children and the infirm in particular. Human’s digestion becomes less efficient yet relatively vulnerable in autumn. At this point, an improper diet may cause a diarrhea.
