At 2:00pm on July 7th, Brighton and Emma, a couple from Australia finally arrived at the eastern starting point of the Great Wall - Lao Long Tou, of the Shanhai Pass- finishing the trek on the Great Wall on foot. It took them one year and two months to complete the long trek.
Brighton and Emma love China's history and culture. On May 31st of last year, they set out from the Jiayu Pass. Along the way, they survived on packed, convenient food; lived in a portable tent; and ultimately crossed eight provinces, a trip of over 3,800 km. They took over 15,000 photos and a great deal of scenery.
"We could not have completed the walk on the Great Wall without the support of virtuous Chinese people, who not only provided food and shelter; but also gave us tremendous spiritual support. This trip made us realize Chinese people's warm, kind and friendly nature," Brighton said. "During this trek, we not only enjoyed the Great Wall, but also forged a friendship with the Chinese people."
