At least four policemen were killed a suicide attack in northwestern Pakistan's Swat district on Sunday, TV channels reported.
A suicide bomber rammed his vehicle with a police mobile van in the town of Shangla in Swat valley, leaving three constables and one police officer killed.
The suicide bomber was also killed in the attack.
Many other people were injured in the attack, who were taken to a local hospital, reports said.
No group claimed responsibility of the attack.
Northwest Pakistan has witnessed a sharp increase in attacks on security personnel since July when government forces stormed the hard-line Red Mosque, killing around 100. Several bombing attacks have occurred in Swat since early July.
