Macao has recorded two dengue fever cases over the past two weeks, according to an official press release issued Friday.
The release from the Health Bureau said a local resident, who works as forest guard on the region's Coloane island, was confirmed being affected by the mosquito-transmitted disease Thursday.
The other victim, a Hong Kong resident working at a Macao casino, came down with the dengue fever on Sept. 15, it added.
The two victims are stated by hospital as "in satisfactory conditions," said the release.
The region, with a population of 528,000, has logged nine dengue fever cases so far this year.
