A delegation of Chinese Tibetologists held a large-scale exhibition themed, "Tibet, the Past and the Present," on July 16 at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United States of America and were received warmly by visitors.

The exhibition consists of 160 material exhibits and more than 400 pictures that show the backwardness of Old Tibet and the development and progress of New Tibet, as well as the inseparable, historic links between Tibet and the Chinese nation.

In addition to the exhibition, the delegation will also engage in talks with U.S. Department of State officials, congressmen and local overseas Chinese community representatives, about Tibet's history and the present situation, the Chinese government's policy on Tibet and truth behind the March 14 riots in Lhasa.
