China's top political advisor Jia Qinglin on Saturday urged the nation's political advisors to better collect proposals for the core tasks of the Party and government.

Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remark when the 18th session of the 10th CPPCC National Committee was closed in Beijing.

Jia called for further studies of President Hu Jintao's keynote speech made last month, which has given a clear view of implementing the concept of scientific development, promoting social harmony and building an overall well-off society.

Hu, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, made the speech when addressing a senior course for ministerial officials and provincial heads at the CPC Central Committee's Party School.

Jia stressed that it is an important strategy outlined by the CPC Central Committee to build a resource-efficient, environment-friendly society and strengthen the construction of socialist culture.

The CPPCC and its members should always bear in mind the tasks and give a full play to their own advantages by collecting more proposals and advices, he said.

CPPCC members should encourage more people to participate in the construction of public culture and make more cultural services available to the public, Jia added.
