Ho Hau Wah pledges to enhance people's living standard |

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), vowed Tuesday to enhance the living standard of all residents.
The official said in his annual policy address that the MSAR government is to spare no effort in helping the common people benefit from the social and economic development.
Ho said the government has pledged to build over 7,000 new public residence flats by the end of 2009.
He also vowed to better the public transport conditions by increasing the number of parking spaces and building a new light-rail system.
The official said the government in the coming year will carry out the feasibility study on the reconstruction of the region's old city.
He said the government will be in a hard bid to improve the life quality of the poor and to support the disabled and the aged groups.
The government is to decrease the tax pressure on local enterprises and all employed residents in the coming year, Ho said. Source: Xinhua
