China on Tuesday welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda to visit the country at the time that is convenient to both sides.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told a regular press briefing that Yasuo Fukuda had told Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in Singapore last month that he hoped to visit the country at an early date, possibly within this year or at the beginning of next year.
The two sides are in close contacts on specific arrangement for his China trip, Qin added.
