Software industry in China grows by 30% |

Despite the decline of the industrial economy in China in 2008, the software industry maintained a growth rate of around 30%, an official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said.
According to a relevant staff member of the China Software Industry Association, from January to November 2008, sales revenue of China's software industry exceeded 697.7 billion yuan.
Sales revenue for the entire year is expected to reach 750 billion yuan, and employment in the software industry has already reached 1.8 million people.
The proportion of the software industry to the industrial economy has increased from 12% in 2007 to 13.6% in 2008.
According to the MIIT official's analysis, the huge domestic market is one of the main reasons that China has maintained rapid growth in its software industry.
