Chinese universities should develop their Party organs in a "reformative and innovative manner," said a senior Party official on Monday.

The universities should educate their faculty and students about the guidelines of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, while sticking to socialism with Chinese characteristics, said Xi Jinping, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, at a meeting in Beijing.

CPC organs on campus should introduce new ideas and methods to improve their work, he said.

Colleges should efficiently implement the Scientific Outlook on Development in their daily work and improve the quality of education to foster more talents for the country, he said.
