China's top legislature on Thursday ratified a UN convention on the rights of disabled people.

The convention was passed by the 61st UN General Assembly on Dec. 13, 2006.

The National People's Congress Foreign Affairs Committee supported the approval, saying the convention complied with the basic principles of China's laws and practice and the approval would benefit the disabled and enhance social justice.
