China's State Council Information Office is holding a press conference here Monday to brief media on the recent talks between China and representatives of the Dalai Lama.

Zhu Weiqun, executive deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, is expected to talk about the visit and will answer reporter questions. The press conference started at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Du Qinglin, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with the Dalai Lama's private representatives, Lodi Gyari and Kelsang Gyaltsen, last week in Beijing.
