China's prosecutors should fulfill their duties of legal supervision to safeguard social justice and stability, a senior Chinese official said here Wednesday.
Zhou Yongkang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remark at a national conference on the work of grassroots-level prosecutors.
Zhou said grassroots prosecuting bodies should promote standard law enforcement and develop a professional workforce.
They were urged to step up legal supervision to provide a powerful judicial guarantee for economic and social development, enhance supervision over litigation and increase punishment of judicial corruption, and better safeguard social justice and stability. Enditem
