Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), said here Tuesday that his government is to improve the region's educational and cultural environment.
Ho said in his annual policy address that the government is to boost the progress of the 15-year free education scheme and "the quality education plan."
The government in the coming year will help schools improve the infrastructure and logistics to ease the teachers' burden, said the executive.
He also pledged to revise the current scholarship system in a bid to encourage the students to study harder.
Ho promised to spend a bigger fund in protection of cultural and historic sites. Source: Xinhua
