On July 16, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding held a global debut for the Chinese version of I Am Jingjing—A Pictorial of Giant Panda's Growth, the first book in which the protagonist is a giant panda.

Three-year-old Jingjing is a 96-kg female Giant Panda.

The story of this book is based on Jingjing's growth, the Olympic family of giant pandas, and their evolution. The book is targeted at children between the ages of 5 and 12, as well as their parents. A lively text written in the first person, including 60 selected photographs will portray the secret of giant panda's growth. From Jingjing's birth and childhood to her adulthood, the book provides readers with a vivid introduction to giant panda breeding and growth, a rare and endangered species which has existed for 8 million years.

The book is popular among children and parents all over the world. Western booksellers have already ordered 100,000 copies. Since it appeared on the European market, more than 10,000 copies of the English version have been sold.
