Man shaped 60-kg kudzu taproot

He Lijiao (L1), a farmer in Fucheng Village of Pingxian County, South China's Guangxi province, displays the kudzu root on Dec. 8.

On Dec. 6, He Lijiao, a farmer in Fucheng Village of Pingxian County, South China's Guangxi province, harvested a giant Kudzu (Geshu in Chinese Pinyin) taproot in his vegetable garden. The root is two meters long and 60.5 kg heavy, and bears the shape of a human being. It's learnt that the Kudzu was planted five years ago.

According to wikipedia, the Kudzu root can be used for both medicines and food. In traditional Chinese medicine, where it is known as gé gēn (葛根), kudzu is considered one of the 50 fundamental herbs. It is used to treat tinnitus, vertigo, and Wei syndrome (superficial heat close to the surface).
