On September 3, the last row of steel tracks was laid on the main line at Lijiang East Station, marking the completion of the Dali-Lijiang railway 18 days ahead of schedule, and laying the foundation for the opening of passenger routes on October 1.

Along the Dali-Lijiang railway there are rich tourist and cultural resources such as the ancient city of Dali, Cangshan Mountain, Erhai Sea and the ancient city of Lijiang.

The Dali-Lijiang railway extends 165 km and has a designed train speed of 120 km per hour. There are 13 train stations along the line, including Dali, Heqing, Renhe and Lijiang. Once the railway is opened, the journey time between Dali and Lijiang will be shortened from four hours by bus to less than an hour and a half by train.
