'World Chinese Entrepreneur Center' established in Beijing

China's first "World Chinese Entrepreneur Center," which aims at intensively displaying and improving the overall strength and image of overseas Chinese, was launched in Beijing's Central Business District (CBD) on the evening of Oct. 28.
The CBD includes 70 percent of the world's top 500 enterprises in Beijing, and the launch of the center aims to further attract overseas Chinese capital and talent.
The construction of the center is jointly promoted by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Beijing Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and the People's Government of Chaoyang District. The center covers the entire core of the CBD and the eastern enlargement area. In addition, a landmark building of the "World Chinese Entrepreneur Center" will also be constructed in the future.
Ren Qiliang, deputy director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, said that the CBD is the most active area in Beijing. It represents the international image of Beijing and all of China, Ren said.
As an important group on the world's economic stage, a large number of powerful overseas Chinese enterprises were established and have developed here, Ren said. They can make contributions to establishing Beijing into a world city with Chinese characteristics and will also fully display the style of overseas Chinese business development.
Ren also said that the "World Chinese Entrepreneur Center" is only a vacant shell at present. It will make efforts to attract the overseas Chinese entrepreneurs listed in the world's top 500 enterprises and the top 500 overseas Chinese enterprises. The aim is to become a base for the headquarters of overseas Chinese entrepreneurs worldwide. He revealed that currently more than 10 well-known overseas Chinese enterprises have expressed their intent to establish their China headquarters in this area.
