Truck accident leaves one dead, causes acid spill in NW China

A truck driver died Monday when his vehicle rolled, spilling 15 tonnes of nitric acid on a highway in northwest China.
The accident happened on a highway in Lanzhou, capital of Gansu Province, at noon, firefighters said.
The truck overturned and caught fire, causing its load of nitric acid to flow to the bottom of the valley by the roadside, firefighters said.
One of the two drivers died at the scene and the other was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Five fire appliances were dispatched to the scene to put out the fire and deal with the acid leak.
