Ecology becomes Zhongguancun's second pillar industry

The 12th China International Environmental Protection Exhibition and Conference kicked off today in Beijing. Spectators are impressed by the collective appearance of 78 enterprises in Zhongguancun from various industries that cover new energy, energy conservation, water treatment, solid waste treatment, atmospheric administration, environmental monitoring and comprehensive ecological services.
Through years of development, the environmental protection industry has become the second largest pillar industry in Zhongguancun, where a huge industry cluster was formed, which includes electronic information, biomedicine, aerospace, new materials, new energy and environmental protection.
Meanwhile, Zhongguancun has a clear advantage in the field of wind power, of five national top wind power corporations, there are three located in the Zhongguancun demonstration zone. In the field of solar energy, Zhongguancun has more than 160 solar energy enterprises.
Among them, some of leading enterprises account for nearly 50 percent of domestic high-end solar photovoltaic equipment sales. In the area of atmospheric administration, large-scale desulfurization environmental companies in Zhongguancun occupy more than 40 percent of the market.
