Shanghai-based Juneyao Airlines announced Thursday that its new air route between Macao and Shanghai will be launched on June 23, the second Shanghai-based airline since April to start flights between the two cities.
Spring Airlines, which commenced daily flights between Macao and Shanghai in April, is the first budget airline in the Chinese mainland to operate a Macao route.
The new Macao route, which operates on every Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday, is Juneyao Airlines' second try at opening up its international (regional) route following the Shanghai-Hong Kong flights, according to the airline.
According to Macao International Airport Company, the Shanghai- Macao route is currently served by four airlines apart from Juneyao Airlines, namely Spring Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines and Air Macao.
