China and Cuba have seen increasing high-level visits and deepened exchanges of experience in years, a visiting Communist Party of China (CPC) official said Tuesday.

The visits and exchanges of experience on governance have brought benefits to the construction of the countries and parties of both sides, said Wang Zhaoguo, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Wang, also vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, kicked off his three-day Cuba tour from Monday.

Since the 1990s, the two countries have secured stable development of bilateral ties, as they have strengthened their cooperation in areas such as politics, economy, science and technology and culture, and supported each other in international affairs, said Wang.

Wang made the remarks while meeting with Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and vice-president of the Council of State of Cuba.

Wang also briefed Machado and other Cuban officials on the just-concluded 17th National Congress of the CPC, as well as the building of the CPC governing capacity, scientific outlook on development and the construction of a moderately prosperous society.

Machado said Wang's visit embodies the mutual trust and friendship between the two peoples and parties.

The Communist Party of Cuba attaches importance to relations with China and will work closely with the Chinese side to push forward bilateral friendly cooperation in a comprehensive manner, said Machado.

Before the meeting, Wang placed a wreath on the Jose Marti Monument at Havana's Revolution Square.

On Tuesday afternoon, Wang also visited the prestigious Latin American Medical School, which has trained thousands of medical processionals for free for some Latin American and African nations.
