Chinese vice premier meets Boeing chief executive officer

Vice Premier Li Keqiang said Wednesday that China and the United States have great potential for cooperation in aviation and other high-tech industries.

Li made the remark in Beijing while meeting with James McNerney, chairman, president and chief executive officer of The Boeing Company. They exchanged views on cooperation between Boeing and China.

Li voiced the hope that businesses of the two countries strengthen cooperation and push forward bilateral economic and trade relations.

The vice premier also expressed his gratitude for the U.S. business circle's assistance in China regarding the May 12 earthquake in southwestern Sichuan Province.

China would win the victory of earthquake relief while ensuring the stable and rapid development of its economy, Li said.

McNerney said Boeing would cement cooperation with China on aviation, and make efforts to promote economic and trade relations between the two countries.
