A few days ago, two young Germans, Tobias and Hartmut, rode to Beijing to show their support for the Beijing Olympic Games and were accompanied by their Chinese friends. Together they toured the scenic spots in Beijing. After 80 days of cycling and crossing eight countries, they finally arrived in Beijing. The length of their journey totaled 14,000 km.
On April 12, Tobias flew to Greece where he joined his friends Hartmut Bogel and Udo Ebert; and together they traveled through Bulgaria, Turkey (where Udo Ebert ended his journey), Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and arrived in China. After cycling 5,000km through China, he arrived in Beijing on June 24, 2008, covering 14,000 km in 80 days, and crossed half of the Earth. The long journey brought Tobias's weight down 7 kg, and his companion, Hartmut, also lost weight.
