The Communist Party of China (CPC)is ready to push forward its ties with the Brazilian Workers' Party (PT), a visiting senior official of the CPC said here Tuesday.
He Guoqiang, member of the Political Bureau Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting with PT Chairman Ricardo Berzoini.
He spoke highly of the PT's important role in developing the economy, promoting social progress and improving people's lives in Brazil.
He said the CPC attaches great importance to its friendly exchanges with the PT, a party in Brazil's ruling coalition, and will further its friendly relations with the PT based on the principles of independence, equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs.
Berzoini said the friendly ties between the PT and the CPC constitute an important part of the PT's foreign relations and also an important component of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Regular exchanges between the two parties is conducive not only to the two parties themselves, but also to the steady growth of Brazil-China ties, said Berzoini.
