The Chinese embassy in Tbilisi hosted a reception on Thursday to mark the 59th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China on Oct. 1, according to diplomats attending the occasion.

Chinese new ambassador to Georgia Gong Jianwei hailed the Chinese-Georgian relations, pledging to work hard for the development of bilateral ties and the friendship between the two peoples.

Georgian Parliament Speaker David Bakradze and Prime Minister Vladimir Gurgenidze, as well as other senior officials and diplomats, attended the reception and expressed their willingness to enhance substantial cooperation with China in economic and trade sectors.

China and Georgia established diplomatic ties in June 9, 1992.
