Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said Thursday that he will go to attend the Asia-Europe Summit in China at the end of October.

Hun Sen said he will also pay a courtesy call to Cambodian former King Norodom Sihanouk and his wife at their royal residence in China, where they are having routine medical treatment.

"I will pay a courtesy call to our former king and queen and I also extend the best wishes to former King Norodom Sihanouk for his birthday," he said at a ceremony in Phnom Penh.

The summit is scheduled to be held in Beijing on Oct. 24-25 and Sihanouk's birthday will fall on Oct. 31.

It will be the first visit abroad after Hun Sen was reelected as Cambodian Prime Minister for another five years.
