China, Bulgaria mark 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations

China and Bulgaria held a reception in Beijing on Oct. 30 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.


Chen Haosu, president of Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), addressed the audiences at the reception held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Bulgaria in Beijing on Oct. 30.
Addressing the event, Chen Haosu, president of Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), said, "The frequent bilateral exchanges and political mutual trust contribute to the development and deepening of Sino-Bulgarian relations over the past 60 years."

The friendship between the two countries endured the test of time and traditional friendship was cemented and carried forward over the past decades. Chen also noted Vice President Xi Jinping's current visit to Bulgaria has injected vitality into the development of bilateral ties and the prospect for friendly cooperation remained healthy and bright.


Bulgarian Ambassador to China Georgi Peychinov delivered a speech at the reception held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Bulgaria in Beijing on Oct. 30.
Bulgarian Ambassador to China Georgi Peychinov said the government and people of Bulgaria have always been supporting the development path China adopted, and that it complied with Bulgaria's interest to consolidate and develop friendship with China.

"The world has undergone a series of global and regional changes over the past six decades, which brought equal development opportunity to all countries. Bulgaria, as an EU member country, is willing to support China's unique way of development and socialism with Chinese characteristics. The two countries will definitely benefit more from economic cooperation," he said.

About a hundred delegates from various circles between the two countries, including Zhang Meiying, vice-chairwomen of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the event.
