Chinese company provides free training to Ethiopian engineers, IT professionals

The training has been delivered to trainees at Alpha University College, one of private universities in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Xiao Bing, the vice president for training with ZTE, told Xinhua that the company has delivered training to some 300 Ethiopian professionals in computer science and information technology.
According to Xiao, ZTE has a plan to reach some 2, 000 people with its training in 2010 here in Ethiopia.
"The project started at the beginning of 2010 and we are delivering the training to 2, 000 local engineers for free, according to the plan. By far, we have already delivered training to 300 students and now we are in Alpha University College delivering training to some 100 local engineers," he said.
He said many local professionals are benefiting much from the training, according to the feedback obtained from the society.
Some of the trainees told Xinua that the training is very important for their career.
Yohannes Mesfin, 26, said he is very happy for having the chance to attend the training class by ZTE.
"I am very much happy for this training; and I am very much interested in the training as it provides us some practical parts which we lack in other classes. I hope ZTE will give us more training in the future and we thank the company for this training, " said Yohannes.
Hirut Shimelis, a female trainee, said on her part that the training is quite nice as it is organized in a manner it is understandable.
Hirut has appreciated ZTE for the initiative.
"I am very much happy for getting this opportunity and I want to thank you (ZTE) for the training which has clear and understandable presentations; and I hope ZTE will call us again for further training," she said.
Michael Gulilat is an instructor working with ZTE. Xinhua has approached him while making presentation to the trainees at Alpha University.
He said the environment is friendly and ZTE is conducting the training smoothly.
According to the feedback he received from the trainees, the training by ZTE has been found very important in the area.
"I really like the environment and the students are catching on. I have been receiving good comments on the training from the trainees and we are conducting it very friendly and smoothly," he said.
The instructor said the training aims at enhancing students' understanding on telecommunications sector and ZTE.
