Mongolian Prime Minister Sukhbaatar Batbold said in Beijing on Friday that the establishment of a strategic partnership between China and Mongolia will symbolize a new era for China-Mongolia relations.
Batbold made the remarks while delivering a speech at Beijing's prestigious Tsinghua University.
China and Mongolia on Thursday agreed to upgrade their bilateral ties to the "strategic partnership" level.
"Relations between our two countries have withstood the test of time over the past 60 years. Today, we have entered a new phase of relations, which, I am confident, will be even stronger and more successful," Batbold said.
Batbold said that he hopes that expanding relations will bring further development in bilateral trade and economic relations, with a special focus on the country's mining, infrastructure, agriculture and tourism industries.
Batbold said that increased exchanges between the youth of both countries have enhanced mutual understanding between the two nations.
He also shared his university experiences with students, saying that learning foreign languages and making friends were the "shining points" of his university life.
Batbold arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for a three-day official visit to China as a guest of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.
