According to Bockel, it is important to do away with " assistance linkages which empower others while rendering others dependant at the same time" and "move from the logic of aid, which is seen as a simple donation, to a logic of investment."
Organized annually, the international days for cooperation and development bring together about 2,000 participants for a two-day meeting to discuss matters related to international cooperation between France, French-speaking countries and developing countries.
