United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will pay a two-day visit to Haiti and Barbados next week, the Haitian government announced on Friday.
According to reports reaching here, Ban will arrive in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince on Wednesday and meet with Haiti's President Rene Preval.
The UN chief also plans to meet Haitian legislators, political party representatives and entrepreneurs, the Haitian government added.
Ban also intends to visit the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti, which was established in the Caribbean country in 2004 after the coup d'etat against former President Jean Bertrand Aristide.
The UN secretary general will travel to Barbados' capital Bridgetown on Aug. 2. During the 24-hour visit, he will meet with the country's Prime Minister Owen Arthur and other officials.
