The last batch of troops from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member nations arrived at an airbase in Russia's Chelyabinsk region on Sunday for a joint anti-terrorism drill.
A Russian-made Il-76 transporter landed the Shagol airbase, delivering more than 130 soldiers from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan who will participate in the exercise, dubbed "Peace Mission 2007."
The troops, including a Tajik airborne commando company and a contingent of Kyrgyz special forces, are expected to join the first joint exercise with soldiers from other SCO member countries on Monday.
The "Peace Mission 2007" drill will be carried out in Chelyabinsk and Urumqi, capital of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on Aug. 9-17.
About 6,500 military personnel from the six SCO members -- China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan -- will take part in the joint anti-terrorism drill.
