India's highest court Monday granted "temporary" bail to Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, three weeks after he was jailed for six years in connection with the 1993 serial bombings in the country's commercial capital of Mumbai.
Dutt, charged with receiving weapons from the bombers, is lodged in a prison in Pune in western India.
"The nature of the offence and the evidence is very difficult to examine at this stage," the Supreme Court said.
Dutt, 48, is one of the 100 people convicted in connection with the bomb attacks that killed 257 people in Mumbai 14 years ago.
Earlier, Dutt had served 16 months awaiting trial over the blasts.
