Vietnam, from next year, will pay salary for state employees via bank accounts, a move to increase the anti-corruption's effectiveness and minimize cash payments, local newspaper People reported Tuesday.
Under a recent instruction by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, state agencies in some big cities such as capital Hanoi and southern Ho Chi Minh City will pay salary via bank accounts for their staff since Jan. 1, 2008.
Other localities nationwide, where bank account services are available, will do this work from Jan. 1, 2009.
