In recent years the UK has strengthened international cooperation, while making a great effort to improve itself.
In June, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, proposed a 60 billion pound annual fund, financed by developed countries, which would aim to help developing countries cope with climate change and develop clean technology.
The Kyoto Protocol will expire at the end of 2012, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), due to take place this December in Copenhagen, will offer the last opportunity for countries to reach a new agreement.
Brown believes that developed nations must assist developing countries to maintain economic growth and simultaneously honor environmental obligations.
