Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej will make his first official visit to Malaysia on April23-24, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said here on Tuesday.
The visit is part of Samak's introductory tour of Southeast Asian capitals, the ministry said in a statement released here.
During his visit, Samak is expected to meet Malaysian leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest to further enhance the friendship and bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia,it said.
Bilateral ties and cooperation between Malaysia and Thailand have always been close and comprehensive at all levels, according to the ministry.
Both countries have been cooperating closely in various fields such as trade, investment, education, defense and security through bilateral mechanism such as the Joint Commission Meeting.
Malaysia will continue to cooperate with Thailand on confidence building measures to promote peace and stability in Southern Thailand, the ministry said. Source:Xinhua
