An earthquake measuring magnitude of 5.4 rocked eastern parts of Indonesia on Tuesday morning, but there were no initial reports of damage or casualties, local meteorology agency said here.
The quake struck at 08:03 a.m. (0103 GMT) with epicenter at 62 kilometers northeast of Poso town of Central Sulawesi province and 44 kilometers in depth, an official of the agency said.
Indonesia sits at a vulnerable zone, so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire", where two continental plates meet, causing frequent volcanic movements.
